podrum malča

Wellcome

Malca Winery was founded in 1903 as a cooperative of local grape producers who even then recognized the need to unite and build a winery where the best grapes from the Nis vineyards would be processed. Today, Malca Winery is writing the brightest pages of its history and presenting to the wine audience its wines worth being on any table in the world and side by side with the world’s best wines. Through hard work both in the vineyards located at the foot of the Svrljiske mountains and in the winery itself, we have developed the Anonymous wine line, which has been winning over the wine audience more and more every day.

92 point for

Anonymous Grašac, Podrum Malča

The wine label states Anonymous – but with one sniff and swallow, every Grašac lover will immediately recognise the grape variety.

Its typicity is first revealed on the nose, with scents of lemon blossom & fruit, white peach and Queen Anne’s Lace (divlja šargarepa), plus subtle hints of pineapple, grapefruit and honeysuckle.

Also quite evident is the stone–mineral character, though this is due more to the terroir of Serbia’s Niš region, where the grapes grew in vineyards over 500 metres high.

The palate is clean, juicy, yet seductively dry, and opens to a lovely yellow fruitiness – very citrusy – with crisp acidity. Fine, vertical structure. The discreet touch of petrol along with the bruised yellow apple note on the finish indicates the wine is slowly maturing.

Now 5 years old, it’s future belongs at the dinner table. |
